Worth noting

• The D-backs' No. 1 pick in last month's Draft, right-hander Touki Toussaint, made his professional debut in the Arizona League on Wednesday.

Toussaint tossed one inning and allowed a home run while walking one and striking out three.

• D-backs scouting director Ray Montgomery has interviewed for the Padres' vacant general manager's job.

• Injured left fielder Mark Trumbo, who is on a rehab assignment in the Arizona League, hit a two-run homer Wednesday and is 3-for-6 with a double, a homer and four RBIs in two games. Wednesday marked the first time he had played in the field since his injury, a stress fracture in his left foot that put him in on disabled list on April 24.

• Second baseman Aaron Hill will most likely get a day off Friday with Didi Gregorius starting at second and Nick Ahmed getting the nod at shortstop.

• MLB.com's Jesse Sanchez reported that the D-backs signed outfielder Juan Carlos Araujo for $215,000 and third baseman Mailon Arroyo for $350,000 prior to the July 2 International Signing Deadline. Both players are from the Dominican Republic.
