• Asked what Triple-A Fresno center fielder Gary Brown must do to merit a promotion to the Major Leagues, Bochy cited consistency -- the same sort of consistency that infielders Adam Duvall and Joe Panik maintained before being called up. "We want to make sure he's ready," Bochy said of Brown, the Giants' No. 1 selection in the 2010 First-Year Player Draft who hit .271 in his first 81 games this season.
