Worth noting

• Gimenez started at first base on Tuesday for the first time this season and Rosales was used at designated hitter. It was only the third time in his career that Rosales started a game at designated hitter. The Orioles had left-hander T.J. McFarland on the mound and Washington was trying to get as many right-handed hitters as he could in the lineup.

• Chirinos was in the fifth spot in the lineup for the first time on Tuesday. Chirinos was hitting .314 in his last 20 games prior to Tuesday.

Derek Holland is not on the road trip. Holland, who is still recovering from offseason surgery on his left knee, remains in Arlington working out and strengthening his left knee. He still hasn't passed the fielding tests needed to go on a medical rehabilitation assignment and there are no plans to have him go through another simulated game until the Rangers return from the road trip.
