Worth noting

Albert Pujols was slated to start at first base before Monday's postponement. The Angels slugger served as the designated hitter the previous two games and has been nursing a swollen lymph gland in his right groin area since Wednesday, which he said grabbed on him and forced him to be thrown out at second in a crucial play on Sunday. Pujols believes that was a one-time occurrence and says it normally doesn't bother him to run.

• The United States Men's National Team sent Mike Trout a personalized jersey in advance of Tuesday's World Cup match against Belgium. The Angels center fielder and several of his teammates have become big soccer fans in recent weeks.

• Veteran starter Joel Pineiro, released from the Angels' Triple-A affiliate on Saturday, was handed a 50-game suspension Monday after testing positive for "a prohibited stimulant in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment program." Pineiro, the 35-year-old right-hander who pitched for the Angels from 2010-11, had a 7.48 ERA in four Triple-A starts.
