All-Star hopeful Cespedes extends hit streak

MIAMI -- All-Star hopeful Yoenis Cespedes extended his hitting streak to a career-high 13 games with a base hit in Sunday's 4-3 A's win in Miami.

Cespedes is 19-for-54 (.352) during the streak, the longest by an A's player this season.

Going back even further, Cespedes has hit safely in 22 of his last 24 games, all while upping his season average to .272.

Oakland's left fielder currently ranks fourth among all American League outfielders in All-Star voting.
