• Brewers reliever Jim Henderson made more positive progress on Tuesday in a mound session at Maryvale Baseball Park. He has been on the DL with a right shoulder injury and is aiming to return soon after the All-Star break. Brewers general manager Doug Melvin has begun preparations for the July 31 non-waiver Trade Deadline, and Henderson's progress could play a significant role in whether Milwaukee seeks bullpen help.

The news was much less encouraging for another injured reliever, Tyler Thornburg, who remains unable to throw, according to Roenicke, because of a right elbow injury.

Brandon Kintzler revealed he was unavailable in Tuesday's game because of some fatigue in his right shoulder, but he said he was able to pitch if needed on Wednesday afternoon. The Brewers have tied to limit Kintzler to a reasonable workload since he was on the DL earlier this season.
