• Catcher Kyle Schwarber batted .600 (12-for-20) with four home runs, a double and a triple in his first five professional games with Class A Boise, and was named the Northwest League hitter of the week on Monday. Schwarber, who was promoted to Class A Kane County, was the Cubs' No. 1 pick in this June's First-Year Player Draft, and the fourth player taken overall.
• Rubi Silva was named Southern League hitter of the week for June 16-22, after batting .467 (7-for-15) with a triple, two homers, four RBIs and two stolen bases for Double-A Tennessee. He was batting .256 for the season. Silva is the third Smokies player this season to receive the weekly honor, joining Bryant and pitcher Corey Black.
