Worth noting

• Though Jaime Garcia was evasive with his answers about the outing and his health after Friday's loss, manager Mike Matheny said a day later that he is not aware of any physical issue potentially bothering Garcia. The left-hander has missed parts of the last three seasons due to shoulder injuries.

• Triple-A Memphis defeated Salt Lake, 13-4, on Friday behind a big offensive night from outfielder Randal Grichuk. Grichuk had the team's third four-hit game of the season. He also scored three times. Xavier Scruggs drove home five runs, tying a career high. Shane Robinson went 3-for-5 with four runs scored from the leadoff spot.

• Right-hander Mike Mayers, a third-round pick in the 2013 First-Year Player Draft, made his Double-A debut with Springfield on Friday and took the loss while allowing three runs on eight hits in six innings. Mayers struck out five and walked one.

Joe Kelly remains scheduled to throw a bullpen at Busch Stadium on Sunday. It will likely be his last time throwing off the mound in St. Louis before beginning a Minor League rehab assignment.
