Red Sox and Red Sox Foundation Partner with UNIQLO, Thursday, June 12
The Red Sox and Red Sox Foundation will announce a new partnership with UNIQLO, a Japanese casual wear designer, manufacturer, and retailer, during a press conference at Fenway Park (Canvas Alley warning track) at 10 a.m. The press conference, which will announce a partnership that features a donation to the Red Sox Scholars program, will include UNIQLO CEO Larry Meyer and Red Sox Foundation Board Member Linda Pizzuti Henry.
Baseball Tomorrow Fund Presents Donation to Kids Gear for Baseball, Thursday, June 12
During a ceremony at Fenway Park before the 7:10 p.m. game against the Cleveland Indians, the Baseball Tomorrow Fund, a Major League Baseball and Major League Baseball Players Association initiative, will present a $5,000 check to Kids Gear for Baseball, a local non-profit organization that collects used baseball and softball equipment for kids in need.
Closer by the Mile, Saturday, June 14
Fenway Park will once again host "PMC Day," which will celebrate the Pan-Mass Challenge's 35th anniversary. A tribute before the game will recognize several cancer survivors who are taking part in this year's ride, which benefits the Jimmy Fund. The Red Sox have been the presenting sponsor of the event for more than 10 years and have a team of riders participating in the race. The Red Sox's "Team 9" is captained by Stacey Lucchino, wife of Red Sox President/CEO Larry Lucchino, who was successfully treated at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in 1985 and 1986. The Pan-Mass Challenge takes place August 2 and 3. This year's fundraising goal is a remarkable $40 million.
Jimmy Fund Teens Meet Players, June 14
Patients from the Jimmy Fund's "Just for Teens" program will step on the field and meet Red Sox players at 1 p.m. "Just for Teens" provides programs and activities at the Jimmy Fund Clinic, and is funded by Red Sox partner Mike Gordon. Earlier this year, this same group of 25 patients took the annual weekend trip to Fort Myers, Florida, to see the Red Sox during Spring Training. The annual Tame the Tiger's Golf Tournament helps fund the Spring Training visit.
Kids and Dads Run the Bases on Father's Day, Sunday, June 15
In celebration of Father's Day, kids and dads attending Sunday's 1:35 p.m. game against the Cleveland Indians are invited to run the bases after the game.
Big Papi Raises Funds for Pediatric Care, Sunday, June 15
Also on Father's Day, "Big Papi" will host the 2nd Annual David Ortiz Children's Fund Gala from 6-10 p.m. at the Mandarin Oriental Boston. The event brings the flavor of his native Dominican Republic to Boston and raises funds to provide critical pediatric healthcare to children in New England and the Dominican Republic. Bling Bling Rings in Kenmore Square, Sunday, June 15
The Red Sox Foundation will continue to promote its World Series Ring Raffle by giving fans the opportunity to try on all three World Series Rings and take pictures with the 2004, 2007, and 2013 World Series Trophies inside the Ace Ticket store in Kenmore Square (534 Commonwealth Ave.) from 9:30-11:30 a.m. The raffle will award genuine, authentic rings to the winners. Latino Youth Honored, Monday, June 16
Latino students from the Greater Boston area will be honored during a pregame ceremony as part of Latino Youth Recognition Day at Fenway Park. This is the second of three Latino Youth Recognition Days hosted by the Red Sox and El Mundo Newspaper recognizing the academic achievements of Latino All-Scholastic All-Stars.
Red Sox Faithful, Wednesday, June 18
For the second straight year, the Red Sox will celebrate "Nun Day" at Fenway Park, a tradition from the 1960's that was revived last year. Hundreds of nuns from around the state are invited to attend. A total of 220 nuns attended "Nun Day" in 2013.
A Picture is Worth…, Wednesday June 18
The Red Sox will host a Player/Fan Photo Session at the Souvenir Store on Yawkey Way where fans can take photos with "a player to be named later" following batting practice.
ABCD's Field of Dreams, Thursday, June 19
ABCD's 17th annual Field of Dreams softball tournament will take place at Fenway Park. The event brings together corporate teams for an all day tournament that benefits Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) and the SummerWorks program.
