Brewers star Carlos Gomez demonstrates the art of taking a pie to the face like a pro, the Arizona Diamondbacks show a rookie the ropes, and David Price's dog Astro goes to the spa - all on this week's "Off the Bat from the MLB Fan Cave," airing tonight at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT on MTV2.
Gomez, currently among the top NL outfielders in All-Star voting, is the featured guest in-studio at the MLB Fan Cave with hosts Sway and Chris Distefano. In addition to hanging out on set throughout the entire show, Gomez participated in a game in which he attempted to conduct a standard post-game interview while repeatedly having pies thrown in his face (The photo above is also attached - please credit MLB Photos). Additional segments on this week's show include:
- Host Chris Distefano spent a day at Diamondbacks camp during Spring Training, getting into full uniform to work out with the team. After hanging out with Josh Collmenter and Charles Brewer, Distefano gets a lesson on blocking balls in the dirt from All-Star catcher Miguel Montero and takes a few swings off bullpen catcher Mark Reed.
- In another segment shot earlier this season, Rays pitcher David Price's dog Astro takes a trip to the spa with host Melanie Iglesias. After his grooming, Astro proceeds to photobomb unsuspecting fellow canines at the spa.
