Worth noting

• Twins starting pitchers entered Monday's game having issued just nine walks in the past eight starts.

• Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said the fire still burns for the Twins-Brewers series, which has been intact as a geographic rivalry within Interleague Play since the Brewers switched to the National League in 1998.

"Our fans come over here, and their fans come over to our ballpark ... yeah, there's still a lot of talk," Gardenhire said, though he acknowledged the weekday layout diminished the energy. "It's still cool, it's still really fun to play these guys. They'll come over to our place [Wednesday], and there will be a lot of Brewers fans over there. If you play the weekend series, it's really big."
