Chris Parmelee added to an already-productive Arizona Fall League season Saturday by homering, doubling twice and driving in two runs in the Mesa Solar Sox's 4-2 victory over the Peoria Javelinas.
Parmelee, the Twins' first-round pick in the 2006 Draft, extended his team lead with his 18th and 19th RBIs. He got Mesa (13-14) on the board with a solo shot in the second inning and added an RBI double one frame later.
Cubs prospect Josh Vitters followed with a two-run blast, giving him RBIs in three straight games. The 20-year-old third baseman is batting .359 with eight RBIs in 15 games.
Angels right-hander Tommy Mendoza (2-1) picked up the win, despite allowing two runs on three hits over three innings. Garrett Parcell (Marlins), John Gaub (Cubs), Blake Parker (Cubs), Dustin Richardson (Red Sox) and Alex Burnett (Twins) combined on five innings of one-hit relief, with Burnett notching his third save.
Tigers prospect Cale Iorg accounted for Peoria's offense with a two-run homer, his second, in the second inning.
Mariners farmhand Nick Hill (0-2) suffered the loss after surrendering four runs on seven hits over 2 2/3 innings. Robert Wooten (Brewers) pitched two scoreless frames for the Javelinas (17-11).
Despite suffering its third straight loss, Peoria clinched the West Division title when the Surprise Rafters were beaten by Scottsdale earlier Saturday.
