Worth mentioning

• Blue Jays third baseman Brett Lawrie will need at least another couple of more days to recover from a tight hamstring in his right leg. Lawrie has been bothered by the injury for more than a week and eventually had to come out of a game on Monday because of the continued discomfort.

Lawrie was fielding ground balls prior to Thursday's game vs. the Phillies, but was held out of the lineup. His status is expected to remain the same for Friday's game against the Angels, but Lawrie could return on Saturday.

• Closer Casey Janssen will make another rehab appearance for Double-A New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon. Janssen has pitched two scoreless innings for the Fisher Cats in the past week and has allowed three hits with two strikeouts.

Janssen has yet to pitch in Toronto this season because of a strained oblique muscle. It's possible Janssen will throw again on Sunday, as well, but the Blue Jays have yet to make a final determination on whether he'll need to appear in back-to-back games before returning early next week.
