Rain showers started to fall in the early afternoon in the tri-state area, sprinkling the tarpaulin spread over the big diamond in the Bronx. The tarp was removed at 2 p.m. ET, indicating that baseball looks promising. First pitch for Game 2 of the ALDS is scheduled for 6:07 p.m. on TBS.
The National Weather Service is predicting "a slight chance of showers before midnight, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between midnight and 2 a.m., then showers likely after 2 a.m." The forecast for the Bronx calls for cloudy skies with a low around 62 degrees, with a 70 percent chance of precipitation.
In the event Game 2 of the ALDS could not be played as scheduled on Friday, Major League Baseball would likely move the contest to Saturday. The Yankees and Twins are scheduled to play Game 3 of the ALDS on Sunday at 7:07 p.m. ET at the Metrodome.
