Worth noting

• The Pirates and Orioles cannot add a 26th man to the roster for Game 2 of Thursday's doubleheader, because it's not a split DH. If it was, that option would be available, but Hurdle said he wasn't worried about it.

• Hurdle started the same lineup for Game 1 on Thursday that he was going to use on Tuesday and Wednesday. Ike Davis (first base) started in the two-spot in the lineup for the first time in his career.

• Pittsburgh posted a 15-5 record last season against the American League, the top record in Interleague Play. The Pirates have won nine straight road games vs. AL opponents.
