Postseason.TV puts fans in control

In a season of sports-technology leaps forward, Postseason.TV, a product that launched for this postseason -- in a partnership of MLB.com, TBS and FOX Sports -- captures the game in a brand new way, including the Quad Mode presentation of various angles during the games of the 105th World Series.

Postseason.TV is a live, blackout-free companion to the actual broadcasts, adding online bells and whistles and user controls. Subscriptions are available for $9.95 as a new way to enjoy the postseason.

Postseason.TV will be accessible from MLB.com and FoxSports.com for the World Series. If you like the combination of live digital baseball enhanced by social networking, and if you also are among the masses who loved baseball over a mobile phone this season, then you may especially like this.

This new offering will give fans the ability to customize the online viewing experience by offering up to 10 different stationary camera angles.

Subscribers to Postseason.TV can choose to watch one of the available camera angles or up to any four different angles simultaneously in the Quad Mode option. Simply drag-and-drop the chosen camera positions into your screen, or zoom in on one angle only.

In addition, FOX Feeds will provide access to social media integration through a live Twitter feed. Yes, it is OK to retweet that -- everyone who tweets can play along.

Think of Postseason.TV as a way to engage with World Series on FOX, while, for the first time, being offered a complete package of live postseason access for this one-time fee.

Fans also will have the opportunity to make Postseason.TV portable with MLB.com At Bat 2009, the application unveiled to iPhone and iPod Touch users. If you have been watching baseball games that way this season, then you now will be able to enjoy this, as the app offers Postseason.TV (Quad Mode) to all At Bat 2009 users abroad and domestic. The MLB.com At Bat 2009 app itself is available for $9.99 at the iTunes App Store.

It has already been a postseason unlike any other, and now it also will be a World Series viewing experience unlike any other. In fact, it marks the first time that any sports postseason tournament has ever offered this level of functionality to its fans. After a year of breakthroughs starting with HD and DVR-capable streaming on MLB.TV Premium, followed by the aforementioned mobile innovations, this is not a bad way to enjoy grand finale baseball year in style.
