• The Chicago White Sox will honor members of the Chicago Fire Department and Chicago Police Department by offering each member two complimentary tickets to one of 15 games at U.S. Cellular Field this season.
"It truly is an honor for the White Sox to pay tribute to the extraordinary men and women of the Police and Fire Departments," White Sox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf said in a press release. "This is a small gesture of gratitude for the everyday heroes who proudly serve the great city of Chicago."
The games available are on these dates: April 2-3, 10-11, 26 and 30; May 9-10, 27 and 30; June 9, 11, 17 and 30 along with July 2.
"On behalf of the city of Chicago, I want to thank the extraordinary men and women of the Police and Fire Departments for their commitment to serve Chicago and its residents," said Mayor Rahm Emanuel. "I also wish to commend the White Sox organization for once again showing their generosity with these tickets and for their recognition of the brave men and women who proudly serve our great city."
Members of the Chicago Fire and Police Departments can redeem the two tickets starting March 24 at the U.S. Cellular Field Ticket Office.
• The White Sox played host to seven military members from Luke Air Force Base for batting practice on Wednesday.
