Magallanes 7, La Guaira 6
Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval  went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs, and A's second baseman Alberto Callaspo  reached base four times with a pair of hits and two walks. But the keys to the game were Magallanes' bullpen -- their final five relievers combined to strike out six and give up four hits over five scoreless innings -- and Royals catcher Ramon Hernandez 's run-scoring walk in the eighth. Hernandez drew a walk from Rafael Cova to score Callaspo, breaking a 6-6 tie in Magallanes' round-robin playoff victory over La Guaira. Box score

Zulia dominated in every way, using an eight-run seventh inning to run away with this round-robin playoff game. Caracas used 10 pitchers, two of whom gave up two runs each without recording an out, while Zulia received solid performances from right-hander Wilfredo Boscan (4 2/3 IP, 6 H, 1 ER) and lefty Elvis Araujo (2 2/3 IP, 1 H).
