Fans frolic before storm intrudes at Fenway

Cancellations include Thursday's game, sledding and skating on Thursday and Friday


The Green Monster was a winter wonderland for a fans Thursday.

Sledders and tubers had the chance to use Fenway Park as a winter playground, before a Nor'easter blew through town and put a halt to Frozen Fenway events scheduled for Thursday afternoon and Friday.

Cancellations included Thursday's Division I women's college hockey game between Northeastern University and Harvard University, scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET, and all sledding and skating activity scheduled for Thursday night and Friday morning. People who purchased tickets to those events can check redsox.com/frozenfenway for more information.

According to Fenway Sports Management, Friday's Hockey East practices are scheduled to take place as planned, beginning at noon.
