Rangers No. 2 prospect Luis Sardinas went 4-for-6 with a double and four RBIs out of the leadoff spot for La Guaira, who topped Caribes, 10-4, a night after blowing an 11-1 lead against them. Both teams moved to 1-1 on the season. Box score

Danny Dorn, who hit 25 home runs for the Tigers' Triple-A Toledo team in 2013, went 3-for-4 with his second homer in as many games to lead Caracas to a 2-0 start with a with a second consecutive win over Margarita. Former longtime Royals Minor Leaguer Mario Lisson went 3-for-5 with a pair of home runs and four RBIs to lead Magallanes to a 6-4 win over Lara. Former big leaguer Lew Ford also added three hits and a pair of RBIs in five at-bats as Magallanes scored five runs in the final two frames. Box score

Former Phillies and Orioles Minor Leaguer Chris Roberson, who hit .362 in the Mexican League in 2013, started off his Mexican Pacific League season by going 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and a stolen base to lead Mexicali over Obregon. Red Sox farmhand Terry Doyle yielded just three hits in six shutout innings for the win. Box score
