"It's all right," Teahen said. "It wasn't that it came on with anything extra today. I've been battling it and it just wasn't getting any looser."
Manager Trey Hillman said the fifth-inning removal was precautionary.
"I didn't want to run him into an injury," Hillman said.
Teahen had batted twice, doubling in his last time up.
"Trey saw me favoring it today and thought it'd be smarter to shut it down and get extra treatment, and hopefully, I'll be ready to go tomorrow," Teahen said.
Teahen was replaced in the lineup by Mitch Maier, who entered to play center field, with Willie Bloomquist sliding over to right. Maier went 0-for-2 at the plate.
