Pedro likely to start Friday at Triple-A

PHOENIX -- Phillies right-hander Pedro Martinez felt fine Sunday in Florida, so he's headed north.

He will throw a bullpen session Tuesday with Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The Phillies have not announced his next scheduled start, but it is expected to be Friday. If that goes well, he likely would require one more rehab start Aug. 5 before he could rejoin the Phillies after Aug. 10.

Right-hander Brett Myers, who is recovering from surgery on his right hip, is scheduled to throw in the bullpen Thursday in Clearwater, Fla. Myers said last week he could be pitching again for the Phillies as early as mid-August.

Lefty reliever J.C. Romero (strained left forearm) threw about 20 pitches Monday in a bullpen session in Clearwater. He will throw again Wednesday.

Righty reliever Clay Condrey (strained left oblique) is not scheduled to throw for several days. There's no timetable for righty reliever Chad Durbin (strained right latissimus).
