Rivera leaves with tightness in right leg

OAKLAND -- Angels left fielder Juan Rivera left Saturday afternoon's game against the Athletics after the top of the third inning with tightness in his right leg and was replaced by Robb Quinlan.

Rivera had doubled in the Angels' six-run third and later scored. He tagged up on a sacrifice fly by Gary Matthews Jr. Matt Holliday threw a strike to home plate that beat Rivera by plenty, but Oakland catcher Landon Powell dropped the ball for an error.

The Angels went on to defeat the A's, 11-6.

Before returning to the lineup on Thursday, Rivera had missed two games with tightness in his left quad and right hamstring. He suffered the injuries July 10 against the Yankees when he reached base on a throwing error but got tangled up with New York first baseman Mark Teixeira.
