"It was unbelievable, because the last couple of games [the Cubs] had trouble scoring," DeJesus said. "And now they put 11 up there but, you know, it's tough. It's one of those things that I'm part of this family now, but you see your guys over there swinging the bat well, and I want to wish them the best."
• The Nationals went 29-13 (.690) against NL Central opponents in 2012. This season they haven't fared as well, with Monday's series-opening loss to the Cubs dropping them to 12-16 (.429) against the division in 2013, with six games remaining (three -- including Tuesday -- against the Cubs and three against the Cardinals).
