In helping extend the Tigers' lead atop the American League Central, center fielder Austin Jackson and third baseman Miguel Cabrera were named co-American League Players of the Week on Monday.

Cabrera hit .429 (12-for-28) with two doubles, four homers, 11 RBIs and seven runs scored over seven games to earn his 10th career weekly award. Jackson hit .371 (13-for-35) from the leadoff spot, with four doubles, two triples, two home runs, two RBIs and nine runs scored. It was his second career award.

Jackson and Cabrera became the first pair of Tigers teammates to share the honor since the award's inception in 1974.

With an RBI double on Tuesday against the Indians, Cabrera reached the 100-RBI mark for a 10th straight season, becoming the sixth Major Leaguer to do so in 10 consecutive years.

On Wednesday, both players homered as the Tigers beat the Indians, 6-5, in 14 innings. They combined to go 4-for-11 in helping Detroit sweep its first four-game series against the Indians in 25 years, extending the Tigers' season-long winning streak to 12 games.

On Friday against the Yankees, Jackson went 4-for-6 and doubled in the ninth against New York closer Mariano Rivera before Cabrera drove him in with a game-tying two-run homer. The two went 5-for-9 in Saturday's win, a day before Cabrera again homered off Rivera in the ninth inning.
