Baseball Hall of Famer Tom Seaver will serve as Grand Marshal of the ninth annual MLB All-Star Red Carpet Show presented by Chevrolet on Tuesday, July 16. The marching band from the Scholar's Academy in Rockaway Park, Queens, a community devastated by Sandy, will lead the procession. Following the band, Seaver will lead the MLB All-Stars across New York City's 42nd Street in open-air Chevrolet vehicles prior to the 2013 MLB All-Star Game. David Wright will ride the Gray Line tour bus decorated in his honor along with a number of New York Mets legends including MLB Network analyst Al Leiter, Mike Piazza, Dwight Gooden and Darryl Strawberry.
The event, which is free for fans, will begin at 1 p.m. ET and is scheduled to feature the 2013 Major League Baseball All-Stars riding through Midtown Manhattan in all-new 2014 Silverado trucks. The players will start at Bryant Park on 42nd Street & Sixth Avenue and proceed on an approximately 80,000 square foot red carpet past Grand Central Terminal and ending at 42nd Street and Third Avenue. Chevrolet will be providing all-new Flex-Fuel Chevy Silverado vehicles for the players and their families.
