DENVER -- Reliever Jason Grilli was dealt from the Rockies to the Rangers for cash considerations on Tuesday.
Grilli, 32, is 0-1 with a 6.05 ERA in 22 appearances this season. He had a productive April with a 1.08 ERA but had since tailed off. The Rockies designated Grilli for assignment before their game against the Cardinals on June 5. The team had 10 days to either trade him, release him or send him outright to the Minors.
The Rockies acquired Grilli from the Tigers in exchange for Minor League right-hander Zach Simons on April 30, 2008. Grilli was 3-2 with a 2.93 ERA in 51 appearances last season.
