Several notable dignitaries, including Baseball Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig, Houston Mayor Annise Parker, Houston Astros Owner and Chairman Jim Crane, Houston Astros Manager Bo Porter and U.S. Representative Sheila Jackson Lee (Texas, 18th District), are among the special guests confirmed for the 2013 MLB Diversity Business Summit, which will be held June 18th and 19th at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. Commissioner Selig will deliver the keynote speech at the secondever baseball diversity employment and business opportunity trade fair. Additionally, the 2013 MLB Diversity Business Summit will feature MLB Club owners and senior level baseball executives as part of the "Business of the Game" ownership panel. Joining Jim Crane on the panel will be Mark Attanasio, Chairman and Principal Owner of the Milwaukee Brewers; Bill Bartholomay, Chairman Emeritus of the Atlanta Braves; Derrick Hall, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Arizona Diamondbacks; Pat O'Conner, President and CEO of Minor League Baseball; and Stuart Sternberg, Principal Owner of the Tampa Bay Rays.
The 2013 MLB Diversity Business Summit, co-hosted by MLB and the Houston Astros, is a premier diversity and procurement event that provides attendees with unprecedented access to human resource and procurement executives from all 30 MLB Clubs, MLB Network, MLB Advanced Media, Minor League Baseball Clubs and MLB's Central Office.
