• Lefty reliever Hideki Okajima was fine less than 24 hours after taking a ball to his pitching forearm in the eighth inning of Monday's game in Milwaukee.
"Amazingly, yeah," Melvin said. "When I looked at it yesterday, it was sticking out real far and bruised. It's still bruised, but the swelling's gone down. He must be a pretty tough guy, because I didn't expect he'd be out here today going to play catch in a few minutes."
