The Storm Chasers dropped to 0-2 at Oklahoma City. Starter Ryan Verdugo yielded five runs (two earned) on five hits and four walks over 6.2 innings. Johnny Giavotella led the offense with two hits, including a double. Xavier Nady hit his team-leading ninth home run in the fourth.

NW Arkansas Naturals (15-36)

The Naturals were blanked on three hits at home. Jason Adam took the loss despite tying a club record with 11 strikeouts. Adam allowed four runs on six hits over 7.0 innings. Orlando Calixte recorded two singles, with Rey Navarro adding the third Naturals hit. Corpus Christi starter Jake Buchanan (5.0 IP, 1 H) moved to 6-0 with a 0.77 ERA. Danny Duffy is scheduled to make his second rehab start tonight as he recovers from "Tommy John" surgery.

Wilmington withstood a ninth inning rally by Carolina to earn a 2-2 split. Kyle Smith limited the Mudcats to a solo home run and six hits over 6.0 innings. Robinson Yambati fanned four over 2.0 perfect frames. Danny Mateo gave Wilmington a 2-0 lead with a homer in the first. Lane Adams added a two-run double in the third. Adams, Mateo and Justin Trapp posted two hits apiece.
