Six doubles by the Hooks hurt Northwest Arkansas as all five Corpus Christi runs scored on two-base hits. The Naturals took an early 2-0 lead as Carlo Testa and Yem Prades hit back-to-back homers in the second. Corpus Christi plated three in the fourth and two in the fifth off of Brooks Pounders (4.2 IP, 8 H, 5 ER, 3 BB, 5 SO).

Both Wilmington and Carolina have recorded a shutout in the series as the home club allowed just four hits on Wednesday. Tyler Sample made his 2013 debut, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits and four walks over 4.1 innings. Scott Alexander posted 2.2 scoreless innings, lowering his combined ERA at Lexington and Wilmington to 1.11 (4 ER in 32.1 IP). Lane Adams recorded a double and is batting .400 (10-for-25) on the road trip.

A ninth-round selection in 2012, Stumpf has a 1.90 ERA in 47.1 innings (9 ER). Cory Hall followed with five strikeouts over 2.0 innings. Mark Donato recorded two hits.
