Worth noting

• Padres manager Bud Black revealed pitcher Edinson Volquez has been battling a blister the past few starts. Black said Volquez seemed to finally move past the problem with his performance on Tuesday, a season-high 7 2/3 innings in a 6-1 win over the Mariners. Volquez had effective command of his curveball and benefited from the extra rest after being pushed back in order for Clayton Richard to start on Monday.
