Omaha won the finale at New Orleans. Xavier Nady broke a 1-1 tie with a three-run homer in the fourth. He added an RBI single in Omaha's three-run seventh and is batting .348 (57-for-164). New Orleans native Johnny Giavotella added two hits and two runs. Starter Will Smith held the Zephyrs to two runs (one earned) on nine hits and a walk over 6.0 innings.

Northwest Arkansas lost the rubber game on a walk-off single by San Antonio's Johan Limonta. Naturals starter Yordano Ventura (8.0 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 8 SO) limited the Missions to a homer in the sixth. Ventura worked more than 6.0 stanzas for the first time in his 10 starts. He has 68 strikeouts in 52.2 innings. The Naturals begin a home series tonight against Corpus Christi (Astros).

The Blue Rocks lost a back-and-forth opener at Carolina. The Mudcats erased a 4-0 Wilmington lead, scoring seven runs (five earned) in the fourth off of Kyle Zimmer. Wilmington took an 8-7 lead in the sixth thanks to a solo homer by Geulin Beltre and a three-run shot by Lane Adams. Carolina plated the final six runs. Adams finished with two hits and four RBI.

17-year old Raul Mondesi hit for the cycle in Lexington's 7-4 win. The son of the 1994 N.L. Rookie of the Year, Mondesi went 4-for-4 with three RBI (triple, homer, single, double). Christian Binford (7.0 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 6 SO, 1 HR) earned his team-leading fourth win.
