Ron White Constructs a Special Memorial at Chase Field

During the Arizona Diamondbacks and Texas Rangers doubleheader on Memorial Day, Ron White constructed a special memorial wall at Chase Field by handwriting the names of 2,200 U.S. soldiers killed during the war in Afghanistan. And he did it all by memory.

White, a former U.S. Navy specialist and memory champion, started this project to pay tribute by literally not forgetting those who have fallen overseas. He’s memorized first and last names, ranks and order of death – around 7,000 words in total. It takes him approximately 10 hours from start to finish, making the doubleheader an ideal time to complete the wall.
