• The Padres have signed outfielder/first baseman Johan Limonta, who was playing for York of the Independent Atlantic League. Limonta, 29, was hitting .295 with two home runs and 12 RBIs in 16 games for the Revolution.

Limonta spent seven seasons in the Mariners' Minor League system, reaching Triple-A in each of the last two seasons. Limonta was assigned to Double-A San Antonio to give the Missions a position player in the absence of first baseman Tommy Medica, who is currently on the disabled list with a strained oblique.
