• Matt Moore, David Price, and Alex Cobb will be the starting pitchers during the upcoming series at Colorado, which means they will get to hit. Price singled off Aaron Cook in his first Major League at-bat, at Colorado on June 17, 2009. Moore and Cobb will be seeking their first Major League hits. From 2007 to 2009, Rays pitchers hit a combined .227, best of any Major League team. But from 2010 through 2012 they hit only .082.

• Heading into Thursday afternoon's game, Rays starting pitchers had gone at least five innings in every game, making them the only team in the Major Leagues that could make such a claim.
