The city of Boston and the state of Massachusetts called for a moment of silence today at 2:50 p.m. ET -- the same time of last Monday's Boston Marathon bombing -- to honor the victims of the attack.

Bells rang across the city and state after the five-minute tribute.

To assist the people most affected by the bombing, Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick and Boston mayor Tom Menino announced the formation of The One Fund Boston Inc., which is taking donations at onefundboston.org. Major League Baseball, the MLB Players Association and the Red Sox pledged this weekend to donate $646,500 to the efforts.

Additionally, the Red Sox teamed with 47 Brand to sell specially designed hats at Red Sox team stores and YawkeyWayStore.com with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the fund, and are auctioning game-worn jerseys as well. The stone-washed blue hats have the B-Strong logo on the front and sell for $20, and as of Sunday night, more than $300,000 had been raised via hat sales.

The Red Sox honored the victims, first responders, Marathon volunteers and state officials with an emotional pregame ceremony on Saturday, before their game against Kansas City at Fenway Park, the first game in Boston since the attack.

Friday's game was postponed because of the police standoff and city-wide lockdown during the manhunt for bombing suspects Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
