Everyone is going out to the yard for a Major League Baseball game these days, evident by the eight most-attended seasons ever coming in the past eight years.
But having the pros come out to your yard? That would be a big deal.
DIY Network has joined forces with MLB Network in a Pinterest campaign called "Pin Your Turf, We'll Crash Your City!" -- a contest that gives you a chance to have licensed contractor Matt Blashaw and the "Yard Crashers" team ambush one of nine Major League towns.
The metropolitan areas of Pittsburgh, Denver, San Francisco, Oakland, Milwaukee, Seattle, San Diego, Houston and Minneapolis are the cities featured on DIY Network's Pinterest board, where fans can pin postcards from select cities now through 5 p.m. ET on May 8. Each repin increases that club's hometown score, and a fan will be chosen from the city with the most repins.
Twins fans jumped out fastest, as Minnesota on Wednesday became the first of those markets to hit triple-digit repins. There are no limits to the number of times you can repin, so you'll want to mix this in with those pins of your dream wedding dress or the best salad recipe ever.
Shooting this summer and premiering in 2014, a special episode of "Yard Crashers" will feature the winning city's ambush and surprise one lucky fan with a home run outdoor makeover. MLB Network talent will participate in the shoot, so in addition to having your yard transformed, you could be hanging with someone you watch every day on TV.
"People always ask me to come and crash their space," said Blashaw, the "Yard Crashers" host. "Now is your chance. Just show your club some Pinterest love and I may show up in your town, your yard, and give you a winning space."
Starting in 2009, DIY Network and MLB Network partnered together for special episodes of DIY Network's popular series. Those episodes have included "Yard War: Baseball" in 2010, "House Crashers" in '11, "Desperate Landscapes" and "Man Caves" in '12, and currently "Mega Dens."
"We've used various casting methods in the five previous times we've worked with DIY Network, and this time we're excited to base the casting on social media to determine which city will be ambushed by the 'Yard Crashers' team," said Mary Beck, senior vice president of marketing and promotion for MLB Network.
"Yard Crashers" episodes air at 10 p.m. ET each Monday on DIY Network. The network is considered the go-to destination for rip-up, knock-out home-improvement television, covering a broad range of categories, including home improvement and landscaping. Now in more than 58 million homes, DIY Network is available nationwide on DISH Network Ch. 111 and DIRECTV Ch. 230, and additional cable channel designations may be found by checking local listings and DIYNetwork.com/tv.
