Two Minor League players suspended

          The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that two Minor League players have been suspended following their violations of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

Cincinnati Reds Minor League right-handed pitcher Vaughn Covington has received a 50-game suspension without pay after a second violation for a drug of abuse.  The suspension of Covington, who is on the roster of the rookie-level Arizona League Reds, is effective at the start of the AZL Reds' season.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Minor League catcher Carlos Ramirez has received a 50-game suspension without pay after a second violation for a drug of abuse.  The suspension of Ramirez, who is on the roster of the Double-A Arkansas Travelers of the Texas League, is effective at the start of the Travelers' season.
