Angels acquire pitchers De La Rosa, Ramirez

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Angels traded right-handed pitcher Steve Geltz to the Rays on Wednesday, one day after optioning him to Triple-A Salt Lake.

In exchange for Geltz, who will be assigned to the Rays' Triple-A affiliate, the Angels received right-hander Dane De La Rosa.

De La Rosa was reassigned to Triple-A by the Rays on March 23, but spent part of the past two seasons with Tampa Bay. He has a 3.75 career ERA in nine seasons.

De La Rosa was not the only move of the day as the Angels also acquired right-hander Elvin Ramirez from the Mets for cash considerations.

Ramirez spent 2012 throughout the Mets organization and posted a 5.48 ERA in 20 Major League appearances.

Ramirez will be added to the Angels' 40-man roster.
