Rogers' move is retroactive to Monday. The righty has dealt with right shoulder instability, which has robbed him of time to build arm strength and velocity.
Manager Ron Roenicke said Monday the club isn't overly concerned about Rogers.
"There's no issues, which is a good thing," Roenicke said. "There's not shoulder or elbow issues, it's just building up arm strength. For some reason, some guys take longer. I don't know why that is."
