SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Rangers pitcher Martin Perez was hit on the left wrist with a line drive during Sunday's game against Seattle, and X-rays later revealed that Perez fractured his left forearm, according to the Rangers. Perez, ranked as the Rangers' No. 6 prospect, is not expected to be able to throw for approximately four weeks while the fracture heals.
Perez, who is competing for the fifth spot in the Rangers' rotation, pitched one inning and allowed one run on one hit before leaving after the injury.
Perez posted a 5.45 ERA in 38 innings pitched last season.
