There will be no shortage of star power on display Thursday afternoon in Tempe, Ariz.
Angels first baseman Albert Pujols and outfielders Josh Hamilton and Mike Trout are scheduled for a 1 p.m. MT news conference, marking their arrival in camp for a 2013 season full of hope for Halos fans.
The presser, which will be carried live on MLB.com, Angels.com and MLB Network, will take place in the Marriott across the street from Tempe Diablo Stadium.
With their first full-squad workout set for Friday, the Angels will once again enter camp with title aspirations after a very busy offseason. The most prominent move saw Los Angeles add Hamilton to a lineup that already featured Pujols -- a three-time MVP -- and Trout -- last season's American League Rookie of the Year and arguably the game's most exciting player.
Hamilton, who signed with the Angels in December for five years and $125 million, arrived in camp Tuesday, and he ran into Pujols.
"Today's the first time I got to spend a little time with him," Hamilton said. "I've always heard things as far as him taking his job serious, working hard, staying focused and doing the best he can to win ballgames. You can definitely see that working out with him."
A five-time All-Star, Hamilton hit .285 with 43 homers and 128 RBIs last season. He'll join Pujols (.285/30/105) and Trout (.326/30/83) in what should be one of the game's most potent offenses.
