Free agent Bobby Abreu went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored to lead the Leones to their third straight round-robin playoff win. Yorvit Torrealba chipped in two hits and an RBI in support of Minor League veteran Yohan Pino, who hurled six strong innings. Luis Nuñez drilled a three-run homer and Marlins outfielder Gorkys Hernandez and Gustavo Molina had two RBIs apiece as the Caribes ended the Navegantes' four-game winning streak. Red Sox infielder Mauro Gomez smacked a three-run homer to cap a four-run eighth inning as the Leones rallied past the Toros. Pirates right-hander Kris Johnson did not figure in the decision for Escogido after allowing a run on two hits and fanning eight over seven innings. Daniel Ortiz hit a walk-off single in the ninth inning for the Indios, who already clinched a spot in the Championship Series. Former Major Leaguer Doug Clark went 4-for-5 with four RBIs and fell a triple shy of the cycle, helping the Yaquis take a 3-1 lead in their best-of-7 semifinal series.
