Touching moments for Miggy, Leyland follow Crown
KANSAS CITY -- The encounters were between two professionals -- a manager and player. Yet the experiences were so personal, they were characteristic of father-and-son moments.

Not long after Miguel Cabrera entered the record books by becoming the first person since 1967 to achieve the Triple Crown, he and his manager, Jim Leyland, embraced in the dugout. The baseball brothers spoke to Commissioner Bud Selig after the game, sharing another memory in a night full of highlights.

"[Leyland] always believed in me," Cabrera said. "He always supported me."

The feeling is mutual. Following the game, Cabrera went out of his way to thank Justin Verlander, Prince Fielder and the rest of his teammates for their encouragement. He took a respectful tone when reporters asked about his manager.

"It was just a great night for baseball," Leyland said.

There were several great moments for Cabrera and Leyland on Wednesday. It's a night neither will ever forget.
