MINNEAPOLIS -- The American League Central race remained status quo on Friday night.

The White Sox maintained their one-game advantage with a 6-0 victory at Target Field, while the Tigers nabbed a 4-0 win in Cleveland to keep pace.

Chris Sale was originally scheduled to start in Thursday's series finale against the Tigers, but the rainout moved him back a night. It was no problem for the left-hander as he threw six shutout innings for his third win in as many starts against the Twins this season.

Sale's name continues to receive buzz in Cy Young Award discussion, but the 23-year-old sounds more focused on getting his team to the playoffs.

"I'm not trying to win any awards or anything like that," Sale said. "The only award I want is the big shiny trophy at the end."

Magic numbers
To calculate a team's magic number, take the number of games it has remaining and add one. Then subtract the difference in the number of losses between that team and its closest pursuer.

Tiebreaker scenarios
A tiebreaker game will be played to determine a division winner, even if the tied clubs are assured of participating in the postseason. If a division championship tiebreaker is necessary, the head-to-head record between the clubs will determine home-field advantage. If the head-to-head record is tied, then the division record will be the next tiebreaker.
