White Sox receive honor from PETA

The Chicago White Sox and U.S. Cellular Field received an honorable mention from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animal (PETA) on their list of the Most Vegetarian-Friendly Major League Ballparks.  This is the second time U.S. Cellular Field has received this honor, earning the same distinction in 2010 for the variety and quantity of vegetarian options available at the ballpark.

Among the many vegetarian foods available, the White Sox offer veggie dogs, garden burgers, salads, edamame dumplings and corn off the cob.  This season, two additional Tex-Mex locations (total of six) and two baked potato stands were added to the concourse areas. Other standard options for vegetarians include pizza, nachos, peanuts, popcorn, desert items, among various others.

In recognition of the honorable mention, the White Sox received a certificate of appreciation from PETA to recognize their continued efforts to offer a variety of food options for all fans.
