SAN DIEGO -- Closer Huston Street will throw his second simulated game on Wednesday, his second in three days, before the Padres face the Cardinals in the series finale at Petco Park.

Street faced several of his own hitters on Monday, including Carlos Quentin and Andy Parrino, but was able to throw all of his pitches.

Street, the Padres lone All-Star representative, has been on the disabled list with a strained left calf since Aug. 11. He still needs to show the training staff that he can run on the calf before the team considers reinstating him from the disabled list.

Street didn't run on the calf at all Monday, though he'll likely do some of that on Wednesday, which could be the final hurdle before he's cleared to return.

San Diego manager Bud Black said a decision on Street's next step would likely occur on the team's off-day on Thursday.
