The Rangers have decided against renewing the contracts of Triple-A pitching coach Terry Clark, hitting coach Brant Brown and Class A Myrtle Beach hitting coach Julio Garcia.
The Rangers had no further update on pitcher Roy Oswalt, who left Sunday's start against the Rays with tightness in his right elbow. Oswalt pitched just two innings on Sunday and was not expected to be available for at least a couple of days. Oswalt was making a spot start so Matt Harrison could get a couple extra days of rest, and the Rangers have no plans at this point for him to make another start.
Robbie Ross, on the disabled list with a strained left forearm, threw long toss on Tuesday and is scheduled to throw off the mound on Thursday. Ross could be activated as early as Friday if he doesn't experience any more problems.
