A’s Recall LHP Figueroa; Option RHP Miller

The Oakland A’s recalled left-handed pitcher Pedro Figueroa from Triple-A Sacramento and optioned right-handed pitcher Jim Miller to Single-A Stockton, the club announced today.

Figueroa joins the A’s for the fifth time this year and has a 1.20 ERA and .170 opponents batting average in 11 relief appearances with Oakland.  However, he has issued 11 walks in 15.0 innings for a .328 opponents on-base percentage.  Figueroa pitched twice during his last stint from August 5-6 and did not allow a run in 3.0 innings.  He logged a 2.45 ERA in seven relief appearances with Sacramento following his August 7 option and is 0-2 with a save and a 2.62 ERA in 32 relief appearances overall with the River Cats.  Opponents batted .212 against him at Triple-A, including .190 by left-handed hitters.

Miller was 2-1 with a 2.02 ERA and .209 opponents batting average in 25 relief appearances over three stints with Oakland.  He pitched just once is his most recent stint, which began last Friday, tossing 2.1
